The Story Behind This Candle

Born into slavery in Maryland around 1822, Harriet Tubman escaped to freedom in 1849. Rather than remain safely in the North, she repeatedly returned to the South, risking her own life to guide family members and dozens of others to freedom through the Underground Railroad. Her extraordinary courage, unwavering faith, and determination earned her a lasting place among America’s most admired heroes.

During the Civil War, Tubman continued her service by working as a nurse, scout, and spy for the Union Army, further demonstrating her lifelong commitment to justice and freedom. Her legacy extends far beyond her own lifetime, inspiring generations through her selfless leadership, perseverance, and belief that every person deserved the opportunity to live in freedom.

Burn & Care

For best performance, allow the wax to melt fully to the edge on the first burn (2–3 hours). Trim wick to 1/4" before each use. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
